  6. Welcome as a new user of CrashMail, a full-featured mail-processor
  7. ("tosser") for the Amiga. CrashMail has all the features you can expect
  8. in a good tosser and is easy to configure with the comfortable settings
  9. editor CrashPrefs. Many hours of work have been put into CrashMail to
  10. make it as powerful, stable and easy to use as possible.

  12. CrashMail can be used on a node as well as on a point system with high
  13. demands and can use both UMS and *.msg messagebases.
  14.  
  15. CrashMail is a Shareware program.
  16.  
  17. Features
  18. ========
  19.  o CrashMail is easy to configure with the CrashPrefs program.
  20.  o CrashMail is very reliable and should never crash when processing
  21.    a corrupt packet.
  22.  o The number of areas and nodes CrashMail can handle is only limited
  23.    by the available memory.
  24.  o The size of messages CrashMail can handle is only limited by the
  25.    available memory.
  26.  o CrashMail supports the UMS and *.msg messagebases and can of
  27.    course handle pass-through areas.
  28.  o CrashMail has support for CHRS conversion in bort UMS and *.msg
  29.    messagebases. Aliases for charsets can be added.
  30.  o CrashMail has support for UseNet gateways when exporting mails
  31.    from UMS.
  32.  o CrashMail can write both FTS-0001 (StoneAge) and FSC-0039 (4D,
  33.    Type 2+) mail packets. CrashMail can also read packets with
  34.    FSC-0045 headers (5D, with domain).
  35.  o Can import an Areas.BBS file and the area settings from a TrapToss
  36.    configuration file.
  37.  o Can write an Areas.BBS file.
  38.  o CrashMail supports packet passwords.
  39.  o CrashMail can be configured only to route file-attaches to certain
  40.    nodes.
  41.  o CrashMail can bounce messages to nodes not in the nodelist.
  42.  o CrashMail can remap netmails to certain persons to another person
  43.    on another node.
  44.  o CrashMail can execute a command when a netmail to a "Robotname" is
  45.    received.
  46.  o CrashMail has a built-in AreaFix with rescan, forward-requests,
  47.    the possibility to "ban" a node from certain areas and much more.
  48.  o Together with a "cron" program, CrashMail can send lists of subscribed
  49.    areas to your downlinks with regular intervals.
  50.  o CrashMail handles zone-gating of echomail areas automatically.
  51.  o Maximum bundle and packet sizes can be specified.
  52.  o CrashMail keeps a statistics file with the flow in all areas.
  53.    The statistics are also shown when a downlink requests an
  54.    arealist from AreaFix.
  55.  o Nodes can be set as read-only or write-only in an area.
  56.  o CrashMail has an ARexx port
  57.  o CrashMail can send replies to netmails with the Audit and Receipt
  58.    flags set
  59.  o CrashMail automatically recognizes which packer it should use
  60.    to unpack a bundle.
  61.  o Netmails can be sent either in separate packets or together with
  62.    the echomail in a bundle.
  63.  o Program for maintaining *.msg areas is included (CrashMaint)
